Sometimes the problems we get are caused by a combination of things that could be out of balance and are not always solved by medication alone. Pressure is applied to the feet using massage and finger and thumb techniques. It cleverly works each anatomical system and organ mapped out in zones and dates as far back as 4000 B.C in China. By working these areas, it can induce deep relaxation and breakdown crystal build up, which subsequently could be causing blockages. People visit to help with their fertility journeys, the grieving process and so much more. Some of the most common conditions people use Reflexology for are things such as, stress, anxiety, depression, back pain, skeletal and muscular pain, arthritis, common coughs, colds and sinus problems, hormone related problems like menopause, menstrual pain, headaches and migraines. It is beneficial for skin complaints and disorders, asthma, and IBS. A reflexologist should never diagnose you with an illness or problem and a treatment is not there to replace mainstream medicine however people often find using an alternative therapy a comfort and proactive alongside their GP’s advice and medicine. When the body is given the permission to relax and attention is given to one’s whole self, it is surprising how helpful this treatment can be in the self-healing process.
A note from me… Reflexology is a treatment for the well and the sick. It is not a tickly treatment as pressure is being applied to specific areas of the soles, the tops and sides of the feet.
You can wear loose fitting trousers and socks are removed. A larger amount of water is recommended on the day of treatment and 24 hours afterwards to flush through any toxins. And lastly, I don’t mind if you haven’t had a pedicure, I don’t worry about a little hard or dry skin, or a wonky toe! Just so long as you have clean feet ☺
